Vulcan TKL PRo

Goal
Roccat Vulcan 121 is their full-size keyboard that has been out for a few years and we got the request of creating a smaller “TKL” size keyboard. Details could be refined but important that it would keep the strong connection to the older Vulcan 121.

Design

The bezel/frame was minimized to create as small footprint as possible on the desk. Many loud details, texture changes, split-lines and surface transitions were removed or simplified. Updated the volume knob to fit and work better ergonomically in a more compact area. A removable USB-C cable was designed and implemented into the product. The wrap-around chamfer increased in size/angle and rounded the corners of the keyboard and metal plate create a more premium product and to reduce the sharp and boxy feel just a touch.

New Multi-media area was created with new pill-shape design and a matching button with laser-etched illuminated line. A design element that later would continue to be implemented in many future Roccat products in multiple ways

Two main versions of the keyboard was created. One standard and one "Pro” that had a new type of optical switch.
On the standard TKL we kept the chamfer natural polished aluminum and on the TKL Pro we wanted to refine the CMF and separate the two versions, so the chamfer is here polished anodized black.
